A Latinamerican artist based in Spain, Pamela Díaz Escalante creates works that explore identity, belonging, and the construction of home through a contemporary and deeply human lens.

Her practice combines symbolic painting and visual storytelling to transform universal experiences such as change, relocation, and adaptation into sophisticated pieces that interact with both the space and those who inhabit it.

Migrating is not just about moving to another country. It is about learning how to belong. We arrive with 23 kilos. A suitcase containing only the essentials. But the actual shift happens later. The day we leave the suitcase at home and step into the neighborhood. Taking part in the small everyday acts becomes a form of integration. Choosing the local market. Supporting local businesses. Glancing at your neighbors and saying, without words: I am here. The suitcase speaks about origin. Daily life speaks about the present. In my line of work, migrating is not nostalgia — it is widening your horizons. Each piece is an invitation to build a home. To belong without stopping being yourself. To remember that community is also something you choose. And when someone takes home one of my works, they take more than a painting: they carry with them the certainty that we can always start belonging anew.

Artista latinoamericana radicada en España, Pamela Díaz Escalante crea obras que exploran la identidad, el sentido de pertenencia y la construcción del hogar desde una mirada contemporánea y profundamente humana.

Su práctica combina pintura simbólica y narrativa visual para transformar experiencias universales —como el cambio, el desplazamiento y la adaptación— en piezas sofisticadas que dialogan tanto con el espacio como con quienes lo habitan.

Migrar no es solo mudarse a otro país. Es aprender a pertenecer. Llegamos con 23 kilos. Una maleta que contiene únicamente lo esencial. Pero la verdadera transformación ocurre después: el día en que dejamos la maleta en casa y empezamos a caminar por el barrio.

Participar en los pequeños actos cotidianos se convierte en una forma de integración. Elegir el mercado del barrio. Apoyar a los negocios locales. Cruzar miradas con los vecinos y decir, sin palabras: estoy aquí.

La maleta habla del origen. La vida cotidiana habla del presente.

En mi trabajo, migrar no es nostalgia: es expandir horizontes.

Cada pieza es una invitación a construir hogar. A pertenecer sin dejar de ser uno mismo. A recordar que la comunidad también es algo que elegimos.

Y cuando alguien se lleva una de mis obras, se lleva más que una pintura: se lleva la certeza de que siempre podemos volver a empezar a pertenecer.
